Bemco Backpacker Oven

We have had a comment that the Bemco oven was not very sturdy. Well we tried to see what was wrong. We found that a lot of users are not making sure that the top of the oven is on correctly.

The oven top has 2 slots cut in the sides of the top. The sides of the oven need to be inserted into these slots see photo above. This will increase the strength of the oven greatly. The photo below shows how we set 46 lbs of weight on top of the oven. Wow that’s one big pot!
