Bemco Backpacker Oven: Big Pine Lakes May 2010

I did the Big Pine Lakes trip again with some guys from the Backpacker Magazine Forum. We had a great time although the snow was pretty deep in some areas. I baked pizza, lasagna, blueberry muffins, cornbread and biscuits and gravy. We started our hike on Saturday at around 9am and made it to the Black Lakes camp by about 2:30pm. Set up our camp in the same spot that I camped at in October of 2009. The next day we hiked to all the lakes even with the snow at about 2 to 3 feet deep. On Monday we hiked out past 3rd lake, 2nd & 1st lakes. The snow was pretty much clear past 3rd lake on the way down. Made it back to the Trail Head by 12 noon and stopped to have lunch on the way home in Lone Pine.
